Shiver Slinky are a band from Leigh near Wigan. There are 4 people in the band and they play alternative rock kinda in the vain of Janes Addiction mixed with Tool and then mixed with Ozric Tentacles.

I first saw Shiver Slinky play at the Spike Island festival in Widnes in 2002. They headlined the Ballistic Acoustic stage on the Sunday and played one of the most dynamic and powerful sets I've ever seen a band play!

History

Shiver Slinky was formed in 1998 by Paul King on vocals and John Haselden on guitar. John Heaton and Paul E. King joined on guitar/backing vocals and drums respectively. Shortly after this, Lisa Johnson joined to play bass.

This line-up stayed in place until 2002 when John Heaton left the band, and then Lisa left in early 2003. The band bounced back by recruiting Tom West to fill the vacant bassist role.
